Tigers News · Boys Soccer vs Desert Mountain

The Tigers suffered a 2-1 loss against Desert Mountain last night.

They went down 1-0 late in the first half after a corner kick got played into the box, bounced around, and ultimately found a Desert Mountain player for a simple tap in.

The second half the Tigers were a different team. Dominating time of possession, combining several passes together, and looking like the stronger team. Finally it paid off, when Junior Defender Davis Rubel played a long set piece into the box. Junior Midfielder Rj Flores was on the receiving end. His initial shot bounced off of the crossbar, but he followed up his shot for a header that found the left side of the goal to draw even at 1-1 with 13 minutes left in the match.

The Tigers looked as though they were on the verge of the game winner, when they got caught on a counter attack by the Wolves. The Wolves took advantage and scored with 2 minutes left to go up 2-1. The Tigers had one final look on a corner with less than 30 seconds left, but unfortunately they couldn’t quite get a shot off.

The Boys play again Thursday night in their final Region game, when they host rival Verrado!
