Athletes had the opportunity to showcase their talents at one of the biggest meets of the season: Chandler Rotary. From the meet being very competitive, it has helped many of our athletes qualify for the State Championships.
On the Friday session, Larry Craft placed first in his heat running a season PR of 11.16 in the 100m. In the 800m, Josiah ran a personal best of 2:05.54. Tyler Rafferty ran the 3200m and ran a PR in 11:11.03. Cedric McKeaver Jr. placed first in his flight in discus on Friday, throwing a 96’05. On the other hand, during the Saturday elite session, Jalan McKeaver placed 4th overall in the 100m with the time of 10.89. Myles Goodman ran a PR 49.98, placing 2nd in his heat and 10th overall. In addition, his time automatically qualified him for a spot in State Championships. Marcel Oliver long jumped a 20’11.
Our girls have been dominating and held their own! During the Friday Session, Aiyah Smart placed 1st in her heat and 4th overall in the 100m in the time of 12.99. Also, she ran a 26.62 in the 200m, and placed 1st overall in high jump, jumping 5’3. Keyanna Blevins placed 3rd overall in the 100m hurdles and had a PR 17.51. In the 400m, Nicole Aubry Field ran a personal best of 1:07.80 and Kylie Grant 1:08.23. Amora Bradley ran her personal best in the 600m with the time 6:40.28. Mariah ran 13:16.83 in the 3200m. In the elite session, Aziya Bowen PR in Triple Jump 37’01 and placed 5th overall.
Sariya Oliver placed 8th overall in the 300mH with the time of 48.74. The 4x800m relay (Sariya Oliver, Kylie Grant, Mariah Contreras, and Amora Bradley) had their first relay debut and came in 13th overall with 10:51.47. Alaina Diggs placed 2nd overall in shot put and threw a 43’09 and placed 4th overall in discus and threw 125’06.
