The hunger of wanting to win and bringing the District Trophy back home is a desperate want for the team. However, today we fell short. Injuries and performance play a part of falling short of the Win, but at the end of the day, each athlete tried their best and contributed the best they could!
The following athletes that competed and contributed towards points:
100m: placing 4th, 5th, 6th overall is Jaelon Taylor, Victor Atanmo, and Tyler Murphey
200m: Myles Goodman (3rd overall) & Jaeydn Carpenter (5th overall)
400m: placing 2nd, 3rd, and 4th overall is Jaeydn Carpenter, Myles Goodman, and Thomas Soriano
800m: placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall is Nathan Pavelchik, Josiah Grant, and Thomas Soriano
1600m: Alexander Rafferty (1st overall) and Cayden Perez (7th overall)
3200m: Alex Bobian (1st overall w/ a PR 11:01.28) & Michael Bobian (5th overall with a PR 11:05.32)
4×100 Relay (Jaedyn Carpenter, Jaelon Taylor, Marcel Oliver, Myles Goodman) places 2nd overall with a 43.24.
4×400 Relay places 2nd overall
4×800 Relay places 1st overall
Discus: Cedric McKeaver places 2nd overall 111’03”
Pole Vault placing 2nd and 3rd overall-Bogar Parra Diaz (12’0″) Logan Wolf (10’00”)
Long Jump placing 1st, 2nd, and 5th overall-Marcel Oliver (22’06”), Treydan Stukes (21’08.75), and Michael James (19’04”)
Triple Jump: 1st overall and 7th overall (Treydan Stukes-42’11” & Michael James with a PR 36’05”)
Although, the boys may not have brought the trophy back home, it does not signify their dedication and hard work they put throughout the season.
On a positive note, many of these athletes will be competing at the State Championships at Mesa Community College. Time to prepare for the big stage!
