There are many athletes all over Arizona who have competed this season and it is a big accomplishment when the athletes make it thus far and able to place and set school records.
Here are the following athletes who placed top 8 in the 2019 State Championship:
4×400 (Jaedyn Carpenter, Thomas Soriano, Alexander Rafferty, & Myles Goodman) placed 1st place with 3:17.77 *New School Record
4x100m (Jaedyn Carpenter, Jaelon Taylor, Larry Craft IV, and Jalan McKeaver) placed 2nd 42.11 *New School Record
4×800 (Josiah Grant, Nate Pavelchik, Thomas Soriano, Alexander Rafferty): 5th place 7:59.19 *New school record
Alaina Diggs: 1st place in Shot Put (46’9.5″) and Discus (133’8) *New School Records
Treydan Stukes: 2nd place in Triple Jump 45’8.25″ *New School Record
Isaac Oliver: 3rd place in Long Jump (22’07.50”
Aiyah Smart: 7th place in High Jump (5’2”)
Aziya Bowen: 7th place in Long Jump (17’02.75”) & 5th place in Triple Jump (36’06.75”)
Jalan McKeaver: 5th place in the 100m (11.03)
Myles Goodman: 6th place in the 200m (22.17) & 400m (49.13)
Thomas Soriano: 8th place in the 800m (1:56.27)
Bogar Parra Diaz: 5th place in Pole Vault (12’03”)
Overall, the boys placed 3rd overall in the meet and the girls placed 7th overall.
Meet of Champions will be hosted at ASU on Saturday, May 11 to see who really is best in Arizona!
